Are you tuning in for the return of Dallas?

A conscience is like a boat or a car. If you feel you need one, rent it – JR Ewing

It’s back. Dallas is back! That famous, perhaps infamous American TV series from the seventies about a wealthy oil and cattle dynasty embroiled in a fierce battle for power, love and the Southfork ranch.

Did you watch it the first time round? Did you have a crush on Bobby (Patrick Duffy) Ewing? Did you ask your hairdresser for a Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) Ewing? Did you scream at the TV when a whole season was revealed to have been ‘just a dream’?

I didn’t. I was born in the eighties and TV wasn’t really my thing. Dallas was nothing more than a vague collection of memories of implausible plot lines and bad hair. That is until, much to the chagrin of my lovely husband, Warner sent us Dallas: The Complete DVD Collection. And I watched it.

The verdict? It’s silly, trashy, watchable stuff. It’s not my thing, but I still sat and watched it. And now it’s returning to our screens tonight (5th September) with a brand new series on Channel 5 at 9pm. Will you be watching? I just might be…

Disclosure: we were sent Dallas: The Complete DVD Collection free of charge for the purposes of this review. No payment was received for this post. All posts are 100% honest.

  1. Well, I’m from Slovakia, so Dallas serie is delayed a bit, but I always loved watching. I’m afraid a bit of quality of new series, can you please report a bit, if the quality is same? Please

  2. I used to live Bobby Ewing? Think he was my first major crush lol! Sad to say I did not see it last night though.
