Captain Brainpower and the Mighty Mean Machine (children’s picture book review)

Captain-brainpower

Blooming brains! – Captain Brainpower

A tiny toy superhero and his toy mouse sidekick, Mojo are tossed into the trash and taken to the dump. Will they be crushed? Will they triumph? With brainpower as the Captain’s superpower, anything could happen!

If your little ones are the type to dissolve into giggles at a superhero calling a villain ‘poopy pants’ then Captain Brainpower and the Mighty Mean Machine by Sam Lloyd is the book for you. The illustrations are bright, dynamic and comical, there’s a pleasing rhythm, alliteration and opportunity for silly voices when reading aloud, and the moral is great: “if you use your brain, you can do anything”.

Captain Brainpower and the Mighty Mean Machine is published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, RRP £6.99.
