It’s starting to come together! – me
I thought I’d share with you where we’ve got to with the transformation of the junk room into a pretty bedroom.
Stage 1 was to empty the room of a lot of junk, clean it from top to bottom and then stand back and realise what a daunting task lay ahead.
Not so. Stage 2 simply involved giving it a lick Pretty Pink Dulux Paintpod Matt Emulsion (only one coat needed), a Hello Kitty ‘Hearts’ Paper Shade and Chad Valley Printed Pink Curtains. It only took a day and look at the difference! A pretty exciting transformation I think.
The following week, we started pulling together the details that would give the room personality. Much of the walls in the little box room will be covered by the wardrobes and shelving, so we wanted a couple of statement pieces that would do the job without making the space feel crowded.
Stage 3 involved applying this Solo Bird On Tree Branch Trees Wall Sticker from Cut It Out Wall Stickers. It was easy to apply and has adhered well, even on our textured paper. The branch applied in a single piece and then each blossom was applied individual. I think it’s really special. Do check out the supplier website – there are designs for almost anyone’s taste.
Stage 4 was to source and hang this Signature Collection Wishes & Dreams Canvas from Punkin Patch. It’s such a pretty little artwork. I’m actually running a competition to win one just like it – enter now!
I’m really pleased with what we’ve achieved so far. Now we’re waiting for the next REALLY exciting stage. I’ve partnered with a well known home furniture brand who have created a beautiful solution for this tiny room. As soon as it arrives, I’ll post again. I cannot wait.
