I’m pretty! – Miss J, 2
I’m pleased to announce from this month I am going to working with Asobi, the toy distributor passionate about finding inspiring toys for children, as an official ambassador. This means that each month, I’ll be trialling something from their range of brands with my children, and also offering you the chance to win one of those same products for yourself.
This month, we’ve been getting to know Seedling, a company which produces a range of creative kits and toys, all designed to give children the opportunity to explore, discover, grow and create. That’s an ethos I think we can all appreciate!
On a girly afternoon, my mum, Miss J and I tried out the Seedling Create Your Own Designer Tutu Kit (RRP £35), which you can win today by completing the widget at the bottom of the page. Here’s how we got on…
We started by measuring the waist band elastic to size and putting it between two chair legs. Then we cut the three shades of tulle into 10cm strips and tied them around the band. Being only 2.5, Miss J couldn’t help with the cutting, but she enjoyed helping pull each of the strips through to tie them. It’s great that no sewing is required!
Next, we used the glitter glue, plastic gems and pom poms provided to add a little detail here and there. This bit was the most fun for tiny hands as it doesn’t really matter where the details go, so it’s the perfect time for some freestyle creativity and a bit of messing about with gluey glitter!
Finally, we used the organza ribbon in the kit to add pretty bows around the waistband.
The finished product is really pretty, but as Miss J wasn’t in the mood to model and because my mum is the best sport in the world…ta da!
Pretty, isn’t it? And we all really genuinely enjoyed creating it.
