We’ve all done it, haven’t we? Tried to improve our home and then all of sudden, one slip, one mis-measurement, one ill-judged nail and what was going to be a simple job is now crumbling off the wall, splitting through the wood or cascading down the stairs. Eep.
Our latest DIY disaster happened when we were decorating our daughter’s first bedroom. We’d brought in some really lovely tall wardrobes to store her toys and clothes in. We wanted to secure them to the wall to ensure they couldn’t present a tipping risk, but….well, you can watch the sorry tale here.
So the moral of my story is don’t go wading into something when you have no idea what you’re doing! The next job we did, we YouTubed the heck out of it before getting started. At least we learned our lesson.
Now More Th>n have been collecting stories of your home disasters. Not just DIY mishaps, but all the accidents and plain bad luck that leave you staring at torn carpet, leaky roofs or new ‘rustic’ windows where a wall should be.
