Comfort and style: Seasalt lambswool blankets

Can we just snuggle up on the sofa and watch a film today? – a poorly JD, 4

Look at this gorgeous bit of loveliness. No, no, not the ten little piggies although yep, totally cute. No, look at the blanket she’s wrapped up in. How pretty is that?!

Just in time for winter (and just in time to comfort a poorly Miss J and JD), we received this lambswool Falmouth Bay blanket from Seasalt and it’s gorgeous. It’s soft and generously sized – perfect for a picnic or just snuggling on the sofa.

We opted for ‘Stripy Garden Fennel’ as I think the muted colours are just lovely, but it’s also available in ‘Timeless Parchment’, ‘Rollover Big Camelia’ and ‘Topsy Loom Mackerel’ priced at £75 each.

The blankets are designed at Seasalt’s base in the Southwest (where they have 13 shops in total) and manufactured in Turkey. They have a fine, tailor-made quality that sets them apart from other brands.

If the mood takes you, go and have a look at the Seasalt website. It’s full of cosy, stylish clothing and home textiles that I would happily order by the van load (if my wallet could handle it).

Disclosure: we were sent a Seasalt blanket free of charge for review. No payment was received for this post. All posts are 100% honest.

Where do you buy your comfy bras?

I can’t find my bra – me, most days, because I’m a ‘nana

Now I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with posh underwear, but for daily comfort – especially if you’re breastfeeding – I don’t think you can beat M&S.

So when I was asked to try out something from the M&S lingerie range, I decided to skip the nursing bras since Miss J doesn’t feed constantly anymore and head straight for support and comfort with the 2 Pack – Cotton Blend Assorted Non-Wired Padded T-Shirt Bras, priced at £16.00.

They’re good, practical bras. Comfortable, soft and supportive. They barely show under clothes and wash really well, as I discovered when I spilled half a cup of tea over them when getting them out of the packaging. Yeah, yeah, laugh it up.

They don’t unhook from the strap like a nursing bra, but they do undo at the back and lift up easily enough for crafty feeds when you’re out and about.

If you’re transitioning from baby nursing to toddler nursing, or just want a bra that’s comfortable, breathable and underwire free, these ones are pretty good.

Disclosure: M&S sent me a pair of bras to review. No payment was received. All posts are 100% honest.

10/52: growing up

Growing up - the things children say

I’m going to draw a monster but I won’t show it to Little Miss J – JD, 4

This week we went to a cafe and ate overpriced sandwiches. Then JD set to work with some drawing while I got out my camera.

As I snapped, Little Miss J started to wake up, but it wasn’t me that went to comfort her – it was JD.

“It’s alright, baby girl,” he said in a sing-song voice. “Everything’s alright. I’m here. I’m here.” And with that, her grizzles turned to smiles and she looked at him with complete adoration.

“Oh, JD,” I said as I picked Little Miss J up. “You blow my mind!”

“Ahhh,” he said kindly, “But only figuratively.” And then he went back to his drawing.
