She smells lovely – JD, 4
I’ve come to accept that any child born with my genes is likely to have sensitive skin, probably some degree of eczema, and possibly the odd food allergy. Yes, I know some of these things aren’t thought to be hereditary, but there you have it.
JD and I suffer fairly badly with eczema, but Little Miss J is so far unscathed, although some products make her skin look rather sore – we all seem to have a sensitivity to chemical nasties.
Lately, we’ve been bathing her in Organic Babies Baby Wash and Shampoo (made with aloe vera, chamomile & lavender) and using Organic Babies Nappy Cream Baby Balm (made with hemp, chamomile & calendula) on her nappy area – both products are free from parabens, lanolin, phthalates, artificial perfumes, petrochemicals and colourants.
I was worried the strong (natural) lavender scent would cause irritation but so far we’re problem-free and it’s nice to know we’re limiting her exposure to the toxins and carcinogens that lurk in so many products these days.
The balm is pricey at £9.45 but it goes a long way and doesn’t create a coating on the nappy like some of the well-known brands. The wash is priced at £6.89 and again should last a decent amount of time as you need very little at each wash. A scent-free version of the wash is available if your little one’s skin is particularly sensitive.
Disclosure: we were scent Organic Babies balm and wash free of charge to review. No payment was received. All posts are 100% honest.
