Cartoon Museum – check out the Spitting Image puppets
Possibly not one for kids but still a must see, why not head down to the Cartoon Museum to check out models from the satirical puppet show that made huge waves throughout the from the 80s and 90s and seriously pushed the boundaries of taste and decency. The exhibition includes some of the best-known puppets, including Margaret Thatcher, The Queen, Princess Diana and Mr Spock.
Regent’s Canal – take a boat trip
Enjoy a relaxing, Easter-themed cruise between King’s Cross, Camden and Islington with Hidden Depths Canal Cruises, travelling along Regent’s Canal with activities on board for kids including Easter Egg decorating. Tickets cost £8-£10and you’ll need to prebook on to one of the hourly trips.
British Museum – become a Greek Olympian
This Saturday 19 April you can become an ancient Greek Olympian using a green screen, then edit your portrait in Photoshop to print. It’s free but spaces are limited so arrive early.
V&A Museum – see a Shakespeare-inspired puppet show
On Saturday 19th only, puppets from the V&A’s collection will be brought out for a special 30 minute puppet show that takes the words and characters of Shakespeare and turns them into a modern day story. There’s a £5 fee and you’ll need to prebook to secure your spot.
