Actual genius! – me
Some things are just genius. Simple, maybe even obvious, but in the fact of their existence, of someone making it happen, they are manifestations of genius. The Sinkstation is one such invention.
It’s a flat colander, basically. It’s made from plastic, comes in a range of colours (lime green, grey, white, red, pink, blue) to suit almost any kitchen, has a shallow lip all round and feet underneath.
Put it at the bottom of your sink and you can rinse veggies, then peel them right into the sink. Then, when you’re done, just pick up the Sinkstation and tip your peelings into the bin or composter via the little lip on one corner. It works so well.
Wash salad on it and it’ll drain properly, unlike most bowl colanders. Wash new potatoes all over without bashing them about. Put a frozen joint on it and juices will drain away cleanly without mess. Water plants in the sink on it and avoid filling the drain with soil.
Available via Amazon for £13.95, the Sinkstation is an affordable, simple, nifty idea, and we love it.
