How much do you spend on beauty and toiletries?
This summer, Superdrug have launched the Swap Shop Challenge and they reckon shoppers can save £150 a year by switching from brand names to their own brand range, and still get great results. That’s a potential saving of over £12k in the average person’s lifetime!
In fact, Superdrug is so confident, they’re offering a 100% Happiness Money Back Guarantee*. If you’re not completely satisfied, you can get a full refund along with a 25% voucher off your next shop.
This weekend, I visited a Superdrug store in Birmingham to learn more about the Superdrug Swap Shop and see how much I could save.
Of the swaps I got on the day, the Vitamin E Skin Case Sugar and Oil Body Scrub is my favourite and definitely one I’ll be buying again. You know how some sugar scrubs feel amazing when you scoop them out of the tub, but then as soon as you apply them to wet skin, they mostly dissolve and run down the plug hole?
Well, this this one doesn’t! As you scoop it out the tub, it feels sticky and as you apply it to your skin, it clings long enough for you to properly exfoliate before rinsing away, leaving gorgeous, well moisturized and buffed skin. Add to that the fact that’s it’s made from all natural exfoliants with no environmentally-damaging microbeads and it’s just a fab product all round.
The Sensitive Bath & Shower Gel Moisture Balance is great for my skin as it’s fragrance free, hypoallergenic and pH balanced, I have to admit, with sensitive skin I’ve tended to stick with brand names I’ve already tried and know I won’t react to, but this one seems just as good as the pricier brand I’ve been buying and hasn’t caused any reactions.
Again, because I have sensitive combination skin, I tend to stick with BB and CC creams rather than heavy foundations unless I’m in on set. I hadn’t tried Superdrug’s CC Anti-Ageing Complexion Corrector 6-in-1 Day Cream before, but I’m quite pleased with the results.
It gently evens my skin town and softens the appearances of blemishes, and doesn’t dry out my skin like standard foundations, and definitely made my eye area supple during the day, however I did find it a little bit shiny on the more oily parts of my skin. Nothing a light dusting of powder wouldn’t fix, though.
