Emily of Emily Crisps and I certainly have a lot in common. She has a passion for good food, loves discovering exciting new ways to prepare ingredients, and has a lust for travel.
Since 2013, my namesake has been lovingly crafting all sorts of delicious snacks, and doing a rather fantastic job of delivering little packets of deliciousness that can be eaten practically anywhere: from the comfort of your sofa, out and about in town with the kids, at your desk, or something to tide everyone over on a flight.
Emily Crisps are made from the freshest fruits and vegetables available, made crispy and delicious without the need for masses of fat thanks to a unique cooking process that combines high pressure with low temperatures.
All this results in snacks that aren’t just super tasty but lower calorie too, with around half the oil of a standard bag of crisps.
With fruity varieties including Crunchy Red Apple, Crunchy Pineapple, and Crunchy Fig Banana there’s something for everyone.
The vegetable packets are just as varied, including Crunchy French Beans, Sugar Snap Peas & Black Edamame and Crunchy Sweet Potato, Carrot & Beetroot, so there’s plenty of crunchy, moreish yumminess to try across the board.
The quality of the range is borne out in Emily’s success story. In the few short years that Emily has been selling her wares, they’ve become a huge hit, available everywhere from independent and high street shops all the way through to major supermarkets, all in just four years. I even found them for sale at my local train station.
Now as we all know, books shouldn’t be judged by their covers, and snacks shouldn’t be judged by their packaging, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that Emily Crisps packs are strikingly beautiful, designed with dashes of colour right to the edges, combined with distinctive typefaces.
They’re certainly easy to spot in my bag on the school run and the kids love them too.
And while an attractive packet is one thing, it’s the equally attractive multipack box that really makes a difference, as it makes picking some up at the supermarket, storing them in the cupboard, and grabbing several packs ready for an adventure just that little bit easier.
If I’m rushing out in the morning and already 10 minutes late they make the perfect grab-and-go snack for when I want something in my stomach before a meeting.
The Crunchy Red Apple packets really help to pep me up with a bold flavour and crunchy punch, the flavour even got two stars in 2017 by the Great Taste awards and I can see (and taste!) why.
The way the flavour bursts in your mouth from the first bite to the last means every bite leaves me with a little smile on my face.
I’ll often throw a pack or two in my bag when I know I’ll be out for hours.
And because each packet of Emily Crisps gives you one of your five a day I find it really is the perfect food for grabbing in the morning and knowing I’m all set for a busy day.
Thanks to the conveniences of modern life, give me my laptop, a flask of tea and some snacks and I can work just about anywhere!
And when I’m on the run with no time to stop, I’m always thankful for a packet of Emily Crisps – they’re fantastic for in-between meetings when I only have a few minutes to snack on something tasty and nutritious.
Even when working from home they’re great – I try not to get too treat heavy at my desk and stick to fruit or nuts, so nibbling on fruit and veg varieties of Emily Crisps in a deliciously novel, crunchy form makes that even easier.
I love being able to so easily grab and enjoy a crunchy treat that’s better for you than so many of the alternatives, and my children love them too.
With a box in my bag, the kids know they can always ask for a treat on the walk home from school and I much prefer them snacking on Emily Crisps than a bag of sweets!
As well as giving us one of our five a day in every pack, Emily Crisps are also completely natural with no added sugar. Yet another reason I’m more than happy for myself or my family to tuck into a pack.
They’re equally great for anyone on who’s looking for a vegan friendly snack, or following a gluten-free diet, as Emily Crisps tick both boxes.
It’s pretty safe to say I’m a big fan of Emily Crisps, both for myself and for my family – they’re a great way to get everyone enjoying more fruit and veg in a fun way.
I love the way they hit that snack-craving sweet spot without the calories, and leave you satisfied, satiated and wondering when you can munch on another packet.
Will you try Emily Crisps? Which variety are you most looking forward to trying?
