Why have we got a photo of the sky? – JD, 4
Here’s my little man holding a picture. Not just any picture, a picture of the beginning of a new day. And not just any day. This picture was taken on the day he was born.
The Day That offers framed pictures of special days, so when we were given the chance to order one for review, the only tough decision was whether to go for JD or Little Miss J’s first day. As JD’s birth predates my foray into photography, we opted for that.
The order process is simple – enter your special date using the calendar on the home page and you’re presented with a choice of six or seven images of the dawn rising over the Cornish coastline – some in portrait, some in landscape.
Choose the picture you feel best sums up how you want to remember that special day. I chose a landscape image of a purple sea and sky – dark, dramatic and beautiful, much like my memories of that day.
You can then use the radio buttons to choose a size and frame type. For review purposes, we were given the Classic size – 50cm x 40cm (usual price £110) and I selected the Palisander frame as it complements the colours in the picture.
Finally, you can choose the occasion. I selected ‘Birth date’ and was invited to enter JD’s name, thus creating a personal message on my picture, “JD’s First Day – [date] 2007”.
I ordered the image and it arrived promptly by courier, well protected with bubble wrap inside a cardboard box. The image is beautifully framed with a white mount and the personalised message is hand written in soft pencil and signed by the creator.
We’re waiting to move house at the moment, but once we do, this picture will take pride of place in our living room. We love it.
Disclosure: we were given this framed image free of charge for review. No payment was received. All reviews are 100% honest.
