This week, Flora challenged us take a look at our lunchboxes and see how we could inject a bit of love back into them.
Here are five lunchbox ideas we came up with to rekindle our love of lunch!
The leftovers lunchbox
I grew up as part of a very hungry family of five, so if there’s one thing I’m terrible at, it’s making small dinners! I tend to make masses of bologneses, pies and roasts, but that doesn’t mean it goes to waste, they just go into our lunchboxes to make a welcome change from the usual sandwiches.
This one was some leftover tomato pasta mixed with a few left over baby carrots, cherry tomatoes and a crumbling of feta cheese.
The bento lunchbox
We’ve also been inspired to join the bento trend. It simply involves creating little ready made portions inside your lunchbox and you can be as creative as you like. These bento boxes from Yumbox are great for this.
We had these silicone flowerpots from Lakeland, so we used them to create a flowerpot lunchbox, topping each pot with a rice paper flower. I just put some foil on top to hold it all in place en route to school.
The wrapped up lunchbox
Bread, bread, bread gets boring, we love creating wraps for our lunchboxes – they’re just so much more appetising than a dull square of sandwich!
These ones are cream cheese and finely chopped cucumber, and cheese and tomato sauce.
So, what’s in your lunch box? What do you think of these lunchbox ideas?
This is a commissioned post for Flora.
