I love these scales. LOVE them. They are the most accurate scales I’ve ever owned and they are making my baking better.
They look great too – a slim black base (21cm x 30cm), brushed stainless steel pads with red rim, and blue-tinted back-lit digital display with big, clear numbers.
The larger of the two pads has an impressive 10kg capacity and moves in 1g increments, while the smaller pad has a 200g capacity and weights in 0.1g increments. Both can be used simultaneously, and both can be zero-ed individually while in use, so you can have your mixing bowl positioned on the larger pad and weigh out smaller, more precise ingredients on the smaller pad at the same time.
You can switch the units between metric (g), imperial (oz) or liquid volume (ml or fl.oz), although this button affects both pads at once. It’s easy to clean and just a dream to use – honestly I can’t praise it highly enough.
With an RRP of £49.99, these scales aren’t cheap, but they’re the best i’ve ever owned, so if you love baking, I’d heartily recommend you go out and buy them today.
Update 2015: During baking I accidentally tipped a bowl of egg whites over the scales and they sadly stopped working and had to be replaced. They were great up until then, the liquid just flowed under the pressure pads and covered the circuit boards, so do be cautious of that risk if you own this model.
Disclosure: we were sent the scales for review.
