I was in Manchester this weekend for a conference. I knew I’d be spending a couple of precious hours playing with the kids, then on the train for two+ hours, then lugging bags to the hotel, a quick brush of my hair and freshen of my make up then straight on to an informal pre-event meal til late.
I wanted an outfit that was practical, breathable but pretty enough to wear all day.
This whole outfit is from NEXT:
Charcoal grey tall leggings, £10
Brilliant length on these, they tucked into my boots and I didn’t have to worry about them rolling up my calves during the day. They were cool in the day and kept me warm in the evening.
Mid-wash Denim Western Jacket, £35
Super comfortable, flattering cut and nice long arms that reach right down to my wrists.
Black hiker boots £35
These were an absolute bargain, reduced from £68 in the clearance section. They’re made from really soft leather and fit well without lacing up the upper section, meaning it’s spacious and flattering around the ankle. Perfect for doing lots of walking in and still looked cute with the patterned dress.
Dragonfly Print Skater Dress, £26
I bought this in Tall and it was great to be able to clamber on and off trains without worrying the dress was going to reveal more than it should. The peplum hem was really flattering to my legs and the dress has no lining, so it stayed cool even on the hot train.
So, that’s what I wore!
