That was the best day EVER! – JD, 5
Happy! – Miss J, 1
We had a wonderful time at Wollaton Park (NG8 2AE) this week, starting with a visit to Nottingham Industrial Museum inside the grounds.
Within, there are rooms devoted to bygone transport…
Steam engines…
And lace making machinery…
We were inside the museum for over an hour and will need to go back because there was plenty more to see.
We then spent the day walking round the stunning grounds, with wide stretches of grass and a beautiful lake, teaming with wildlife.
But the absolute highlight of the visit was getting up close to the deer that live in the park. Mark took these photos – I can’t quite get over how beautiful they are!
We were all so taken with the museum, grounds and wildlife that we never actually made it inside the grand Wollaton House, finding the light fading as we made our way back to the main path. So, that’s a trip – and a blog post – for another day.
Where’s your favourite place to go and enjoy nature?

I love Wollaton Park. I always spent some time there before my Open University summer schools at Nottingham Uni. It’s a magical place. :)
