Sometimes, a boiled egg will do, sometimes toast and butter hits the spot, but when you want a really decadent, boozy brunch, there's nothing better than this Baileys French toast recipe.
Measure the cocoa and golden syrup into a large bowl. Mix to a paste.
Add the eggs and whisk together.
Add the milk and Baileys. Whisk again.
Place 2 slices of bread in the egg mixture and soak until well absorbed.
Heat a little of the butter in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium heat.
Add the bread to the pan and fry for 1-2 minutes until golden underneath. Flip and fry for a further minute until cooked through.
Repeat with the remaining bread, 2 slices at a time. If you like, you can keep the slices warm on a non-stick tray in a low over while you cook the remaining batches.
Stack on a plate and drizzle with the syrup to serve.
