    Kitty pizza with breadstick whiskers

    Jump to Recipe

This kitty pizza is a cat-lovers dream! Shaped like a cute cat, this pizza is easy to make and tastes amazing. Perfect for a kitten themed party.

Kitty pizza with breadstick whiskers - a fun, easy to make lunch, dinner or party snack idea!

It doesn't matter if you're a kid or an adult, pizza is always a party or celebration favourite - it's perfect for sharing and goes well with tons of other food.

It's hard to top the classic combination of a tomato base and mozzarella, but in when it comes to toppings, there's really no limit to what you can create. We opted for our family's favourite: veggies!

The whiskers taste great on their own, but anything that allows JD access to more tomato dipping sauce is always going to be a winner.

Here's how to make one kitty pizza.

    Ingredients

    For the base

    • 300 g (10.58 oz) strong white bread flour
    • 1 tsp fast-action dried yeast
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 200 ml (6.76 floz) lukewarm water

    For the sauce

    • 1 jar (1) pizza sauce or tomato purée - For topping
    • 150 g (5.29 oz) grated/shredded mozzarella vegetarian is required
    • black olives
    • green and orange peppers

    Equipment

    Instructions

Add the flour, yeast and salt into bowl and mix together.

Preparing the pizza dough for these adorable kitty pizzas

Add 200ml of lukewarm water and bring together in the bowl with a wooden spoon or by hand.

Preparing the pizza dough for these adorable kitty pizzas

Turn the dough out on to a floured work surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth and return to the bowl.

Preparing the pizza dough for these adorable kitty pizzas

Cover with a wet tea towel or cling film for an hour.

Preparing the pizza dough for these adorable kitty pizzas

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F (180C/360F fan), turn the dough out and divide into two equal parts.

The pizza dough is separated into two balls

On floured work surface roll the dough out until just larger than the kitty template (which can be downloaded cut out as pdf or image).

The pizza dough is rolled out ready to create the kitty shape

Place the template over the dough.

Use the free downloadable cutout to create the perfect kitty shaped pizza

Cut around the template with a sharp knife to form the head.

Creating the kitty shaped pizza from fresh dough

With the leftover dough roll out six breadsticks around 4 inches long for the whiskers.

The remaining dough is used to create breadstick whiskers

Cut the green peppers into two circles (I used a very tiny biscuit cutter), and add a slither of olive for the pupils. Make the nose and mouth out of the orange pepper.

Create the kitty face using your selection of toppings - here we've used vegetables

Add the pizza sauce, mozzarella and vegetables to make a face. Lay the breadsticks on top of the pizza for whiskers.

The assembled kitty pizza, ready to be cooked in the oven

Bake for 12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Freshly baked kitty pizza with breadstick whiskers

Transfer to a plate or board and server with any dipping sauces of your choice for the breadsticks.
