Tips for how best to get creative with your crispy cake pops and storage suggestions.

    Can I use other cereal?

I haven't personally tried it but puffed wheat or chocolate rice crispies should work. As long as you're mindful of quantities you can get as creative as you like with what's in the cupboard.

Can I add things to my crispy cake pops?

You could throw in some raisins or chop up some dried fruit and mix it through the dry cereal for some extra chewiness and taste.

You could also melt some chocolate and dip one half of the cake pop into it as an extra treat.

    Can I have different colours?

If you divide your rice crispies in half and then pour your melted marshmallows into two separate bowls you can add different food colouring to each before adding the rice crispies . Use the bowl you poured half your mixture in first as it will be cooler.

What can I do with my leftover cake pop mix?

I find there's usually enough space for some slightly smaller hearts which you could stick to the front of the cake pops or make fun shapes with, but once the heart-shaped ones have been eaten no one will be complaining that the off-cuts got stored too!

How should I store my crispy cake pops?

They will last for 3 days if you put them in an airtight container somewhere cool, but they won't be nearly as soft on day 3. Use greaseproof paper between each layer to stop the cake pops sticking together.

Can I freeze crispy cake pops?

Yes, just store your crispy cake pops as you normally would, but place in the freezer. They won't be quite as soft as they were, but still very tasty.

You only need to let them defrost for 20 minutes at room temperature, which means they're a cheap and tasty treat for lunchboxes and outings that takes 30 seconds to grab.

Can I make crispy cake pops in advance?

You can make them the day before, they will lose a little of their chewiness but still be super tasty.
