Here's the full recipe for my Nutella pudding cake, complete with step-by-step photos to help you at every stage.
Ingredients
For the Nutella sponge
- 90 ml (6 tbsp) vegetable oil
- 90 ml (6 tbsp) whole milk
- 80 g (4 tbsp) golden syrup
- 140 g (⅓ cup + 3 tbsp) Nutella
- 115 g (⅔ cup) caster sugar
- 2 medium free range eggs
- 95 g (½ cup + 3 tbsp) self-raising white flour (self rising flour)
- 50 g (⅓ cup + 3 tbsp) cocoa powder (dutch processed)
For the Nutella sauce
- 45 g (3 tbsp) Nutella
- 80 g (4 tbsp) golden syrup
Equipment
- 3 pint (1.71lt) pudding basin with lid
- Small heatproof bowl
Instructions
Lightly grease your pudding basin.
Put the vegetable oil, milk, golden syrup, Nutella, caster sugar and eggs in a bowl.
Whisk together.
Sift in the flour and cocoa.
Gently whisk together to combine.
Pour the Nutella pudding cake batter into your greased pudding basin.
Fit the lid
Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Remove the lid very carefully as there will be steam. It should look well risen and set across the top.
You can push a skewer into the centre to make sure it’s cooked all the way through to the bottom. Microwave for another 30-60 seconds, if necessary.
Place a serving plate on top of the pudding basin and invert to that the Nutella pudding cake drops out onto the plate allowing you to remove the pudding basin.
Make the Nutella sauce by mixing the Nutella and golden syrup together in a small bowl and microwaving for 20-30 seconds.
Cut your Nutella pudding cake into slices to serve.
Drizzle with some of the Nutella sauce and enjoy!
